OCA International has been awarded a contract for the inspection, quality control and components testing of an 800MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in Dubai.
The developer is Emirates Solar Power Company which has awarded a partnership formed by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Masdar (Abu Dhabi's renewable energy Company) the construction management of the world's largest photovoltaic plant, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (Phase III), with a peak power of 1054 MW upon completion.
The EPC consortium in charge of construction will be led by Spanish Gransolar, which also includes Spanish ACCIONA Industrial and Italian Ghella.
The consortium has awarded to OCA International the quality control services for the photovoltaic modules manufactured in China. OCA International will provide supervision and testing of the photovoltaic modules during panels manufacturing along with worldwide inspections for the other plant components.
The first phase of the project consists of 200MW of the total where more than 1,270 modules will be monitored and tested.
The contract will be managed from OCA International’s Dubai office with the support of the International Projects Divsion.
This is OCA International's first PV contract in Dubai and the Middle East area where short-term growth is expected in the industry.
